How to install presets in Adobe Camera Raw 10.3+ (Mac)

Last Updated on January 2, 2022

Would you like to install and use presets in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) on your Mac computer? With the new .xmp format, Adobe now allows presets to be used right within ACR (10.3 or newer).

Please note that the presets downloaded from Contrastly are compatible with Lightroom 4, 5, 6, CC, and Classic CC as well as the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). If you have Photoshop CC, you should have ACR as well.

Our preset Collections come bundled in a zip file. The simplest way to install our presets is by following the steps below:

  1. Open up Photoshop and load up an image.
  2. In the top menu go to Filter > Camera RAW Filter. This will open up the ACR window.
  3. Select the Preste icon in the right sidebar (or press Shift + P).
  4. In the Presets panel, click the small 3-dot icon and select “Import Profiles and Presets”
  5. In the file location window, find the .zip file you downloaded from your Contrastly account. Make sure that the file is still zipped (an unzipped file will not work).
  6. ACR will then import the presets automatically and the Contrastly folders will appear in the Presets panel.
